Rust Software Engineer

Polars is the next generation of DataFrames. We don’t take the easy route and build from the ground up, controlling every element allows us to create a superior solution. Our open-source implementation is one of the fastest growing data projects on GitHub and has over 6 million downloads to date.

We believe data processing should be a seamless experience from working locally on your development machine to an enterprise production environment. There should be one framework to learn for data practitioners removing the need for rewriting code when going to production.

How will you make an impact?

As a Software Engineer, you actively work on our DataFrame API and query engine. Together with a small team of senior developers and a vibrant open source community you shape the future of Polars. From experience, you know how to design and implement features in our code base and are proactive in proposing high potential use cases for improvement. You love solving problems that squeeze every bit of performance out of all cores. You are passionate about clean idiomatic code and understand the benefits of (performance) tests

Job requirements

• Experience in Rust
• Proactive and solution driven mindset
• Fluency in English
• [Preferred]Experience with the internals of database systems/query engines
• [Preferred] Experience working with data formats (Arrow, Parquet, Delta) and storage layers (S3, Azure Blob, GCP)
