A small, profitable audio technology company is hiring a Senior Rust Engineer to take full ownership of the real time decisioning system at the core of their product. It makes billions of decisions a month and reaches a very large consumer audience through well known media and consumer technology partners.
Production Rust on AWS serverless. A dense set of interacting constraints, real time guarantees, and a service that cannot be taken offline while you work on it. Not greenfield: the codebase is mid migration, and you would step in, hold its architectural context and move it forward without breaking what already works.
What they are looking for
- 5+ years production backend, with Rust at production depth
- Real fluency in distributed failure modes: retries, dead letter queues, idempotency, at least once delivery
- AWS serverless: Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS
- Experience taking over a live codebase mid lifecycle
- Daily, practical use of coding agents
- Pragmatic. Builds on what exists rather than arriving and rewriting it.
