Open Source Rust Software Engineer

We’re looking for a skilled Rust backend engineer to build scalable APIs and high-performance backend systems in a fast-growing open-source environment. This is a great opportunity for engineers passionate about OSS development and contributing to widely used projects.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and develop high-performance backend systems in Rust
• Build scalable APIs and optimize for edge cases and performance
• Contribute to and maintain open-source projects
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver new features
• Work with relational databases, ORMs, and SQL to ensure efficient data management

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of Rust experience
• TypeScript experience is a strong plus
• Experience contributing to popular OSS projects
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for open-source development
• Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows
• Experience with real-time frameworks (WebSockets, Socket.IO) is a plus
