Overview
This is a Senior Engineering Manager role with responsibility across multiple full-stack teams working on a core platform used by external developers.
You will operate at the intersection of people leadership, technical strategy, and developer experience, owning both execution and long-term direction. The role combines hands-on technical involvement with high-impact organizational leadership.
Responsibilities
Multi-team leadership
- Manage two full-stack engineering teams (10–16 engineers total)
- Support hiring, growth, performance, and team health
- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on quality and ownership
Developer Experience & Platform Ownership
- Own the end-to-end experience for external developers
- Drive the strategy and evolution of SDKs and developer-facing tooling
- Ensure platform usability, reliability, and adoption
Technical Leadership
- Maintain approximately 20% hands-on involvement through:
- Code contributions
- Technical reviews
- Architectural guidance
- Spend ~80% of time on people management, alignment, and system-level thinking
- Guide architectural decisions across teams and services

Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product, design, and engineering leadership
- Translate product goals into scalable technical execution
- Align teams around shared platform standards and direction
Requirements
- Proven experience managing multiple full-stack teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technical background in TypeScript / Node.js
- Production experience with Rust (1–2 years) sufficient to guide technical direction
- Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with people and organizational leadership
- Experience owning developer-facing platforms, APIs, or SDKs is a strong plus
