Rust backend and smart contract developer

Our software, systems, and DevOps engineers are a remote-first team who love to solve complicated problems well, delivering elegant and robust solutions to complex problems.

We’re continuing to expand our engineering team and are looking for a Senior Rust engineer. You will be working on a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) trading platform, specializing in smart contract code and accompanying backend services. You will work directly with both our internal team of engineers and the customer to implement solutions. We are looking for experienced engineers who take pride in their work and enjoy architecting systems.

Location: Fully remote, strong preference for time zones between UTC+0 and UTC+5.
Type of engagement: Preference for full-time, though part-time positions may be available for the right candidate.

Requirements

• Strong written and spoken English with a solid internet connection.
• At least 2 years' experience with production Rust development.
• At least 5 years' experience with production backend development.
• Demonstrated ability to architect distributed systems.
• Prior experience coding financial software or demonstrated math skills with an interest in learning about financial systems.

Additionally, the following skills are a huge plus:

• Experience with deploying on cloud architecture using container-based deployment.
• Blockchain experience, especially in the Cosmos and CosmWasm ecosystem.
• Data analytics.
• Some experience with React+TypeScript is helpful. Your primary responsibilities will be smart contract and backend, but the ability to update the frontend while working on backend changes is valuable.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

Expectations

FP Complete have partnered with a leading blockchain product company to provide a high quality, capital efficient, leveraged trading platform in the Cosmos ecosystem. The product has been in production for over six months, and we are looking at augmenting our team to accelerate future development and add additional backend services.

We are looking for a senior engineer who is excited about taking ownership of large problems and delivering solutions. There will be opportunities to work on high performance code, create defenses against various common attack vectors, and help strategize around improvements to a sophisticated financial model, including designing attack mitigation strategies. You will be working with a team of highly motivated and talented engineers.
